Ullastre, Olea Europaea spp. Sylvestris nº 2 (IV)
Poco a poco este Ullastre va tomando forma. Después de la poda de Agosto ha vuelto a brotar.
Tengo más reportajes de este árbol el 19/10/2011; 28/3/2012 y el 15/8/2012
Gradualmente esta Oliveira vai tomando forma. Depois da poda de agosto voltou a brotar.

Gradually this Olive tree is growing to the desired shape. After pruning it in August it has returned to sprout.
I have more stories of this tree on 19/10/2012; 28/3/2012 and 15/8/2012.
Ya tienes la copa a medio hacer, parece que ese ullastre va por buen camino. Por otro lado, sí que ha tirado bien después de la poda de agosto.

Jere, el árbol está precioso. Sólo tengo una pregunta, ¿no deberías potenciar más un ápice nuevo? Veo ramas principales ya cogiendo forma pero quizás echo de menos un ápice formándose.

Its a very special Olive with great bark and strukture, Jerre. But why did you style and bend the branches like a pinus? Is this the nature look of a wild olive? You have the best pictures of old Olives in your enviroment. Its not a critic but I always see that the spanisch guys often style olives in that Pinusstyle. Why?

Hello Avicenna, your critic is more than welcomed! I understand what you mean if you look at my other olive trees they are shaped in an Olive natural way, but with this tree I wanted to do something different. Even so in a few years this tree will look more “natural” as the idea is for all the top of the tree to be all one big green massif area. Sometime ago a well known master in Bonsai visited my home when I asked his opinion on what I think are my best trees he told me they didn’t look like Bonsai trees they were too natural. I took this as a compliment as I want my trees to look natural, just as they would look like in nature. So my trees may not participate in a competition but I’m happy that I have managed to replicate nature. For me there is a common mistake to shape a European tree as it was a Japanese Pine tree. I think we have to respect the aesthetics, rules in Bonsai but respecting the shape the species would have in nature. As you say many of my coleagues style trees as they where Pine trees. I have seen all sorts of our species styled this way and I think it is a big mistake.
